These are my individual 5 top supplements for ADHD

  1. Magnesium

Why Magnesium? Because Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in the body. It is used in so many functions, the list is as long as my arm, and I have very long arms. Here are some of the things that it does:

  • Helps with muscle functions

  • Helps with conversion of Dopamine

  • Helps with conversion of Serotonin and Melatonin

  • Helps with Detoxification

2. Lion’s Mane

Lion’s mane is rightfully getting loads of hype currently. It is a fabulous brain tonic, and for us ADHD people, it helps our brains to work more smoothly and quietly - our brains are like a concert in a hall, and this reduces the volume and scale down to a small room. It is great for focus and memory as well as gut health; yes you read that right, gut health - it has been shown to helpful in healing the gut, and as we know the gut is the second brain after all.

3. Mucuna pruriens - L- Dopa

Mucuna pruriens aka Velvet Bean, aka the best and strongest version of natural L-Dopa you are able to find. This L-Dopa is the precursor to Dopamine, and as you may well know by now ADHD people have a deficiency in Dopamine. Taken alongside some Magnesium, B6 and/or Zinc, this will very easily and happily convert to Dopamine making your brain operate more like a neurotypical, but still able to do to Neurodivergent things like hyperfocus and be a badass.

4. L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is a fantastic precursor to Dopamine. This is an amino acid that is easily found in foods such as chicken and turkey, and makes a big difference when you take the right amount with the converting factors - our good ol’ friends of Magnesium, B6 and Zinc as per L-Dopa just above.

5. Choline

This is a really powerful brain nutrient (amongst other things) and has been shown to be lacking in people with neurodivergence, or at least that we produce less than the regular average person aka your neurotypical. This is something that you can easily get from eating eggs and other foods, but I find that supplementing it makes a larger difference.

For each of these supplements/nutrients you will want to find a reputable supplier, not just some local Amazon purchase, as those are generally extremely low quality and ineffective.
